I cant understand why this is happening. Is it because of some bug or is it truly that case that 1MB is shown and after restart it again shows 72MB.

When I check in Device manager it recognizes a Seagate Hard Disk but it's not shown on My Computer. Is there any solution to this?

Its a Toshiba Satellite a45-s151 laptop.

I googled a bunch but wasn't able to really find a good answer on what I can do. Everyone kept pointing me to either completely LEGAL avenues, like paying 40 bucks to order new cds from Toshiba. Now I rather not pay 40 bucks for an old laptop.

I would like to use the genuine key that is on the bottom of the laptop but that is for the OEM version, but i just need to be able to reinstall the OS without the cd. I think i can down the drivers from the Toshiba website. I would need to know when I should install these as well.

THere is no recovery partition because it was already wiped since its a new HD.

Its windows xp home edition. Not sure what version came with the laptop originally or what version is tied to the laptop (Sp1, 2, or 3)
