Create and Apply Custom Views in Excel 2010


You can easily apply some of the the settings such as, the Display settings, Print Settings, the cell settings, the row width, the column width, the filter settings etc. to a worksheet and save it as custom view so that, you can easily use these settings in that worksheet when you use it in the future.

You can create multiple numbers of custom views for a single worksheet, but, you can apply a particular custom view to a worksheet that was active at the time when you created the custom view. The tutorial mentioned below will depict you on creating and applying custom views in Excel 2010 Application.


To Create Custom View, do the following

1) Open the worksheet for which you want to create the custom view and then on the ‘View’ tab, in the ‘workbook Views’ category, click on the ‘Custom Views’ icon.

2) Now, in the ‘Custom Views’ dialogue box thus opened, click on the ‘Add’ tab.

3) Give a name for the custom view in the ‘Name’ box and click on the ‘Ok’ button.

To apply a Custom View, do the following

1) Click on the ‘View’ tab and then under the View tab, in the ‘workbook Views’ category, click on the ‘Custom View’ icon.

2) Now in the ‘Custom Views’ dialogue box thus opened, under the ‘Views’ box, select the custom view that you wish to apply and click on the ‘Show’ button.

NOTE: - when you click on the Show button, the workbook that was active at the time you created the custom view gets opened.

3) If you want to delete a custom view, in the ‘Custom Views’ dialogue box, click on the ‘Delete’ button.
