Controls are the generic name for all the form fields you can add to your page—the second necessary component of the form. You can add nine types of controls; they do everything from enabling a person completing your form to enter text, to accepting yes or no answers from that person, to enabling that person to choose one or more items from a list you provide. Controls also define the buttons your visitor needs in order to submit data.
You need to know what type of data your form needs to collect before you create controls. Table 1-1 shows what controls can help you collect values for each type of data.
