Pasting a Chart as a Linked Object in Excel 2007:-


1. If you plan to save your chart in Compatibility mode, to be shared with people using PowerPoint 2003, you might consider using the linked object choice in the Paste Special dialog.

2. First, you copy the chart from Excel. In PowerPoint, you choose Home, Paste, Paste Special, Paste Link, Microsoft Office Excel Chart Object, and then you click OK. This choice is far more limiting than the choices.

3. In order to update the chart, you have to right-click the chart and choose Update.

4. To edit the chart, you right-click the chart and choose Linked Worksheet Object, Edit. This means that the person using the PowerPoint file must have access to the original Excel file.
