Determine which features are not supported by earlier versions of PowerPoint


If you have created a slide show presentation using PowerPoint 2010 application and you intend to use the same presentation in an earlier version of PowerPoint such as PowerPoint 2007 or PowerPoint 2003, then some of the features does not work or cannot be supported in the earlier versions of the Office PowerPoint application.


The following tutorial will guide you on a feature called Microsoft Office compatibility checker that can be used to determine which of the features doesn’t work or not supported when you use a PowerPoint 2010 created presentation in an earlier version of the PowerPoint application. The Compatibility checker feature check for features that are not supported by the earlier versions of the PowerPoint.


1) Open the PowerPoint presentation that you want to check for compatibility issues.


2) Click on the File tab and then click on Info.

3) Now, under Prepare for Sharing category, click on the drop down arrow of Check for issues and then click on Check Compatibility.

4) Now, a Microsoft PowerPoint Compatibility checker dialogue box gets revealed on the screen. In this dialogue box, under summary, the PowerPoint application will display a list of slides and features within the slides that are not supported by the earlier versions of the PowerPoint application.

5) To get aid regarding the compatibility issues, you can click on the Help link present against each issue in the Compatibility checker dialogue box.
