How to disable indexing in windows 7

Introduction

In this tutorial we will guide you how to disable the indexing option in windows 7.
Here windows have the special feature which is known as “file indexer” which will allow you to search the files quickly.

Here the drawback is that the process will utilize lot of resource and it may result in slow working of the system.

• Click on start menu.

• Type “services.msc” in search box in start menu and hit enter.

• Now scroll down the list until you find “Windows search” option.

• Double click on “Windows Search” option.

• Click on “General” tab.

• Under start type select “Disabled”.

• Select “Apply”.

• Click ok.

That’s it; the indexing option is now disabled in windows 7.
