HP LaserJet 1200 is only printer. But you are saying you need the driver for scanner. Because in HP website also they say only HP LaserJet 1200 series. Ensure the whether it is HP LaserJet 1200 or HP LaserJet 1220?

Had the same problem which drove me nuts- the scanner driver is only available as a part of the original CD, which HP does not distribute via the web. Finally, found a copy of the original CD on rapidshare:
