Thread: Working with Hyperterm in Windows Vista

I have installed Windows Vista Home on my Acer laptop. As Microsoft doesn’t ship with Hyperterm with Windows Vista, I have purchased new Hyperterm 6.4. I did all the connections as I needed. When I open the application and select the connection and start the session, pre-terminal window starts flashing. Then, Taskbar also disappears. I won’t get the Taskbar until and unless I log off the system and login again. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the application and established all the connections again, but no use.

Download and install the Tera Term app from the below website:

And run the Tera Term to check where the problem is existed? There may be a hardware problem also. And, once you uninstall the Hyperterm, go to Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and try to remove manually all the registry value(s) related to Hyperterm. Then you reinstall the Hyperterm.
