Hi, I am using Windows Vista operating system. Earlier, Windows Media Player was working fine. But suddenly stopped working, after downloading some .wmv files. I have tried to open it from Task Manager, but no use.
Right click on .wmv file and selevt Properties. Under Properties page, click on General tab and then click on Change button. If Media Player doesn’t show up in the Recommended Programs, then check in the Other Programs in the same window. If Media Player is not listed in Other Programs also means click on Browse button in the same window and choose the location of the Windows Media Player. Normally, the location of the Windows Media Player will be:
32-bit OS: C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
64-bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
If you want to play the video in Windows Media Center means, the location of the Media Center will be:
C:\Windows\ehome\ehshell.exe
By choosing Media Center, all your .wmv files will played in the Media Center only until and unless you change the Open With program.
