Thread: How to make the Vista as a default operating system?

Earlier, I was using Windows XP and now I have upgraded to Windows Vista. After upgrading, when I reboot the system it shows the black screen and asks me to choose which OS I have to boot? Is there any way to make Vista as the default OS? So that system can boot directly Vista without asking me.

You can make Windows Vista as your default operating system. Right click on Computer (My Computer in Windows XP) and then select Properties. In the Properties window, click on “Advanced system settings” link from the Task pane. Then, in the Advanced system settings window, click on Advanced tab and then click on Settings button under the Startup and Recovery option.

In the Startup and Recovery window, select your Windows Vista from the drop down box under the “Default operating system” section and deselect the “Time to display list of operating systems” checkbox. And then click on OK and then click on Apply and OK.
