    Post Problem with SID in Windows Server 2003

    I have two Domain Controllers with the same SID. One DC is acting as file server which handles hosting files and databases and another one is acting like a application server which handles WSUS, anti-virus and so on. Now, I am getting 1054 userenv errors. So, I want to change the SID of one of them. What to do? How to change the SID of domain controllers?

    Default

    Demote one Domain Controller back to member server which should not the FSMO role holder. If FSMO and Global Catalog server is related then transfer the FSMO role because FSMO only holds one machine at one time. See the below articles for transferring FSMO role:
