How to turn off recent search items display in Windows 7

To turn off recent search items display in Windows 7 follow these simple steps:

1) Open Start menu and type gpedit.msc in the search box provided at the bottom of the Start menu to open Local Group Policy Editor.

2) Click the gpedit.msc link as highlighted above.

3) In the Local Group Policy Editor window thus opened, click to expand :

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer given in the left pane.

4) In the right pane double click Turn off display of recent search entries in the Windows Explorer... option as highlighted above.

5) In the Turn off display of recent search entries in the Windows Explorer... Properties window thus opened, select the radio button Enabled to turn off display of recent search entries in the Windows Explorer

6) Select the radio button Not configured or Disabled to allow display of recent search entries in the Windows Explorer

7) Finally click Applyand then OK button and quit Local Group Policy Editor
