How to prevent installation of removable devices in Windows 7?

To prevent installation of removable devices follow these steps:

1) Open Local Group Policy Editor

2) Now navigate to the folder:

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Device Installation\Device Installation Restrictions in the left pane

3) Now double click the Prevent installation of removable devices option in the right pane as shown above

4) In the Prevent installation of removable devices window click the dot Enabled to prevent installation of removable devices

5) Click Apply and then OK button

6) Close Local Group Policy Editor
