    Configuring NPS Servers

Configure and deploy your NPS servers including the following steps:

    1. Install a computer certificate on each NPS server.

    2. Install the root CA certificates of the computer certificates, user certificates, or smart cards of the wired clients on each NPS server (if needed).

    3. If you are using an EAP method that is not provided with Windows Server 2008, install it on each NPS server.

    4. Configure logging on the primary NPS server.

    5. Add RADIUS clients to the primary NPS server corresponding to each 802.1X-capable switch.

    6. Create a set of network policies on the primary NPS server that are customized for wired connections and that use the universal security group name for your wired accounts.
