How to change Folder Icon in Windows Vista?

To accomplish this follow these simple steps:
1) Right click on any folder of your choice and select Properties option.

2) In the Folder Properties window select Customize tab and then click on Change Icon button

3) Now choose your desired icon for the folder

OR
If you want to add an icon separately stored on your disk apart from the default icons then click the Browse button and then navigate to the location where you have stored the icons and click Open button.

Note: Some icons are present in the following directories which you can access via Browse button
• C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll (Recommended)
• C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll
• C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
4) Click OK button.
To restore default folder icon click Restore Defaults button as highlighted in the Figure 5
