How to Add or Remove Command Bar in Internet Explorer in Windows Vista?

For Internet Explorer 7 you can accomplish this in the following manner:

1) Open Registry Editor window

2) Navigate to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\CommandBar in the left pane

Note: If you cannot find CommandBar key in the left pane then right click on the Internet Explotrer key and choose New and then Key options as shown below. Name it CommandBar and then proceed.

3) To remove Command Bar follow these steps:

a) Right click on an empty area in the right pane and choose New and then DWORD (32-bit) Value options

b) Name it Enabled

c) Go to step 6


4) To add Command Bar follow these steps:

a) Right click on the Enabled option and choose Delete option

b) Click Yes button to Confirm

5) Close Registry Editor

6) Close and reopen Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect


For Internet Explorer 8 you can accomplish this in the following manner:

1) Open Internet Explorer 8

2) Right click on the Menu Bar and select the Command Bar option to check it to add it as shown above

Select the Command Bar option to uncheck it to remove it
