Oil Effect On Text using Photoshop

Step 1.

Open Photoshop and press “Ctrl+N” to open a new document of Width “500” Height “238” Mode “RGB” Resolution “72”

Step 2.

From the layer palette click on the “Create a New Layer” a new layer will be generated.
Using “Rectangular Marquee Tool (T)” Select the entire work area and fill with Black color.
Now make a new layer from the layer palette. Click on the “Horizontal Type Tool (T)” and type any text. I used text style “Cosmic San Ms” and “Strong” and color “White”. press “Ctrl+T” to activate “Free Transformation Tool” and make the text large in size.


Step 3.

Now double click on this text layer a menu “Layer Style” appears.

Select “Inner Shadow” and set the following settings shown in the figure below.
I used the color is “#7a0506”

Step 4.

Now select the “Inner Glow” and apply the settings shown below. I applied the Inner Glow color as “#835916”

Step 5.

Now Select “Bevel and Emboss” and set the settings shown below. Here in "Highlight Mode" I used color “#f9f7ab”

Step 6.

Now inside “Bevel and Emboss” select “Contour” and apply the following settings.

Step 7.

This step select "Satin" and apply the following settings. Color I selected is "#9a231a"

Step 8.

Now Select the "Color Overlay" and select color is “#ebd533” and all the settings shown below.

Step 9.

Now right click on the text layer make select “Duplicate Layer” and new layer copy of the text layer will be generated.
Now go to Filter=>Blur=>Gaussian Blur and apply these settings shown below.

That’s it your oily effect text is ready.
