Default Do not have network access via LAN or Wireless after an install of XP; can anyone tell me what to do

I have two separate laptops. I have installed an XP Home Edition licensed & legit just store bought copy. I installed it formatting the C:/ & used NTFS file system. When I go into the Network Connections portion after the install there is no way to connect via LAN & via Wireless. On the other copy I have installed XP Prof from a bit torrent. When I go to the Network Connections portion after that install I have the same issue as well. I believe it is a driver issue however I have no access to the internet from either computer in order to install drivers. I tried using a boot driver CD but that didn't work either. Can anyone tell me what I need to do.

    Thanks,

    Beth

First, run the Network Setup Wizard from the Control Panel. Once you finish the Network Setup Wizard, then you will be able to access the internet.

I selected the Network Setup Wizard from the Control Panel & the result was: Cannot Complete the Network Setup Wizard--The wizard cannot find your network hardware. Before using the wizard, you must first install & configure your network cards, modems, cables & device drivers.--I don't understand this result b/c it's a laptop & the network card is there & how am I able to install the drivers w/out network connectivity?

Go and get the specified drivers for your network adapters from another computer. Then save them to a USB flash drive and transfer them to the computer. Then, install it manually.

Thanks! That worked for the one laptop; the other I'm finding it difficult to find the drivers needed but I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out soon enough since this approach worked for the one laptop.

    Hi siinght,

Thanks for your reply. Happy to hear from you, that the problem has been resolved for one laptop. Don’t worry. Try to search the driver for one more laptop in the manufacturer’s website. You will definitely get the drivers. If you have any more doubts, then you can post a question in the appropriate section.

    Happy to help you.
