I want to add the Safe Mode option to the boot menu. Means, whenever I start my computer, it should ask me to choose the OS. Boot menu should contain only Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Ultimate (Safe Mode), so that I can choose any one option. Is it possible to do? How?

Yes, it is possible. Use the EasyBCD or VistaBootPro. By using anyone of these, create another entry in the boot menu and save it as Windows Vista Safe Mode or what ever you want. Then, restart the system and in the boot menu, select the Windows Vista Safe Mode or what ever you have given.
After booting, click on Start and type msconfig.exe in the Search box and hit Enter. Then, click on the Boot tab. Then, select the new entry i.e. Windows Vista Safe Mode or whatever and select the “Safe boot” checkbox. Under “Safe boot” option, select Minimal and also select “Boot log” checkbox. Then click on Apply and then click on OK. Then, reboot the system. |
