I have some files in the Documents folder. When I try to edit the file and click on Save, it gives me the error message as “Cannot create the C:\Users\<username>\Documents\<filename> file. Make sure the path and filename are correct”. I can save the file with new filename, I can delete the old file, I can rename the new file to the old file’s name, but I cannot edit or modify or overwrite the file. How to fix this issue? Can anyone know about this? Please help me.
Thanks for any assistance. |

Try the below solution first:
Right click on the Documents folder and select Properties. Then, click on the Customize tab. Then, set the “Use this folder type as a template” option to All Items. Then, select the “Also apply this template to all subfolders” checkbox. Then, click on Apply and then click on OK. If this doesn’t work, then follow the steps given in the below article: Vista can't create file: Make sure file name are correct |
