Default Fix “Unable to Create a New Folder using Context Menu” problem



How to fix Unable to Create a New Folder using Context Menu or File Menu problem in Windows Vista



It may happen that when you right click on the Desktop or on any other window and choose New and then Folder option or click the File menu and choose New and then Folder option to create a new folder, you are unable to do it. This tutorial will help you to overcome this problem.

You can fix this problem in the following manner:

1) Download the file Fix_New_Folder.zip given at the bottom of the post under Attached files section and save it to a desired location.

2) Open the file Fix_New_Folder.zip and double click the file Fix_New_Folder.reg

3) Click Continue button if prompted by UAC

4) Click Yes button to confirm

5) Click OK button when successful

6) Restart your PC for the changes to take effect

Note: If the problem is not eradicated then you can Perform a System Restore
