How to Enable or Disable on Log Screen Saver in Windows Vista? When you start your computer and leave the log on screen as it is without logging in then after sometime (10 min by default) you will notice a screen saver displayed on your screen. This tutorial will help you in knowing how to turn on or turn off this log on Screen Saver. Note: If you want to know how to change the timeout (default wait time) for the log on screen saver then click the link Change Logon Screen Saver Timeout Windows Vista You can accomplish this in the following manner: 1) Open Registry Editor and navigate to the key branch HKEY_USERS \ .DEFAULT \ Control Panel \ Desktop in the left pane Figure 1 2) Now double click the key value ScreenSaveActive in the right pane as highlighted in the figure above 3) Now type 0 in the Value data textbox to disable (turn off) the log on screen saver OR Type 1 in the Value data textbox to enable (turn on) the log on screen saver Figure 2 4) Click OK button 5) Close Registry Editor. 6) You can now view the changes made next time you log on to your system |
