How to End Explorer process through a Shortcut in Windows Vista?
This tutorial will help you in creating a shortcut to close explorer. Thus you do not need to use Task Manager or Start Menu to close the explorer.
You can accomplish this by following these steps:
1) Right click on the Desktop and choose New and then Shortcut options

2) Now type or copy C:\Windows\System32\taskkill.exe -f -im explorer.exe in the location textbox and press Next button

3) Type a desired name, say Close Explorer, and press Finish button

4) The shortcut will be created on the Desktop

5) You can now change its icon.
