Default Show or Hide Notification icons



How to Show or Hide Notification icons in the Taskbar in Windows Vista?



Notification Area on the Taskbar contains system icons (clock, volume etc.) as well as other Notification icons such as Windows Security Alerts, Windows Sidebar and so on. This tutorial will help you in knowing how to show or hide the Notification icons other that system icons.

Note: To know how to show or hide the system notification icons click the link Turn on of off System icons in Notification area.

You can fulfil this task in the following manner:

1) Right click on the Taskbar and choose Properties option

2) Now select the tab Notification Area

3) To hide all inactive icons just check the option Hide inactive icons option and go to step 7

OR

To show all inactive icons just uncheck the option Hide inactive icons option and go to step 7

4) To show or hide individual notification icons click the Customize button.

5) Now choose whether to hide the icons when inactive or hide them permanently or show them permanently from the dropdown list

6) Click OK button

7) Click OK button in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window.
