Post How to manually clean the Temp folder in Vista?

I was using Disk Cleanup utility to clean my temp folder, but it isn’t working properly. When I run the Disk Cleanup utility, it says that Temp Folder contains around 4.85 GB. When I click on Delete button, it starts to delete and completes without any problem. If I once again run the Disk Cleanup utility, it again shows the size of the Temp Folder is 4.85 GB. So, is there anyway to clean the Temp Folder manually without using any tool?

Yes. You can manually clean the Temp Folder in Vista. Go to the following location:

    C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Temp\

If you are unable to see the AppData folder, then go to Folder Options and click on View tab and select “Show hidden files and folders” option and click on Apply.

Once you go to the above location, press CTRL+A to select all the files at a time. If it says something like there are some hidden files, then click on OK. Then, press the Delete key from the Keyboard. Click on OK on the confirmation box. Then, close the Temp window and empty the Rcycle Bin folder.
