How to Allow or Deny Read or Write Access to Floppy Drives in Windows Vista?
This tutorial will help you in deciding whether users can access Floppy Drives or not i.e. whether they can read and write to the Floppy Disks or not via Floppy Drives attached to your system.
To accomplish this follow these steps:
1) Open Local Group Policy Editor and expand the branch
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Removable Storage Access in the left pane

2) To allow or deny Read Access to Floppy Drives follow these steps:
a) Now double click the Floppy Drives: Deny read access option in the right pane as shown in Figure 1
b) Select Not Configured or Disabled to allow read access to floppy drives
OR
Select Enabled to deny read access to floppy drives

c) Click OK button
3) To allow or deny Write Access to Floppy Drives follow these steps:
a) Now double click the Floppy Drives: Deny write access option in the right pane as shown in the Figure 1
b) Select Not Configured or Disabled to allow write access to floppy drives
OR
Select Enabled to deny write access to floppy drives
