How to Prevent Users from Adding a Printer in Windows Vista?



This setting will remove the Add a Printer option from the Printers window.

Note: To view the Printers window open the Start menu and type Printers in the search box and press Enter key.

To accomplish this follow these steps:

1) Open Local Group Policy Editor and expand the folder

User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Control panel \ printers in the left pane

2) Double click the option Prevent addition of printers in the right pane

3) Click the dot Enabled to prevent users from adding printer

4) Click Apply and then OK button.
