How to Create a Remote Desktop Connection in Windows Vista?



Remote Desktop Connection feature in Vista allows you to access a remote computer. The other computer must be connected your network. If you are connected to the other computer via Remote Desktop Connection feature then you can access that computer in the same way the local user uses it. You will get to see the same Desktop and settings of that system.

To create a Remote Desktop Connection, follow these steps:

1) Right click on the Computer icon on the Desktop and choose Properties option

2) Now click the Advanced system settings link in the left pane in System window

3) Click Continue button if prompted by UAC

4) Now select the Remote tab and select one of the dot Allow connections from computer…. under Remote Desktop section as shown in figure below

5) You can now add users of your computer who can avail the benefit of this feature by clicking the Select Users button

6) Click OK button

7) Now open Start menu and go to All Programs and then Accessories and then click the Remote Desktop Connection link

8) You will now see the following window

9) Now type the IP address of the remote computer and click the Connect button

10) You will be asked for the remote computer credentials such as username and password

11) Type in the correct username and password and press OK button

12) You will now see the remote computer Desktop on your PC.
