How to Change Character Delay and Repeat Rate while typing from Keyboard in Windows Vista?



Character Delay is the time that is lapsed between pressing a character key in the keyboard and it being typed on the screen. Character Repeat Rate is the speed at which a character is re-typed on the screen when the character key is pressed and held for sometime.

You can change Character Delay and Repeat Rate in the following manner:

1) Open Control Panel (Classic View) and double click the Keyboard icon

2) Now slide the Repeat delay and Repeat rate sliders forward or backward to change Repeat Delay and Repeat Rate respectively.

3) You can test the Repeat Rate by typing the character in the textbox as highlighted in the figure above

4) Click Apply and then OK button
