How to Cancel the Print Process that hangs in Windows Vista? One of the common problems that people face when they try to print a document is that they are unable to cancel the print process that hangs. Thus they are unable to issue another print command unless the annoying first job in the queue is removed. You can tackle this problem by choosing one of the following three options: Option 1: Through Rebooting Restart you PC and see whether the erroneous print job is eleminated from the queue. Generally it is removed but if the problem still persists then switch to Option 2 or Option 3. Option 2: Through Services 1) Open Start menu and type services.msc in the search space and press Enter key Figure 1 2) Click Continue button if prompted by UAC 3) Now navigate to the service Print Spooler and double click it Figure 2 4) Click Stop button Figure 3 5) Now open the Windows Explorer and type or copy C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS in the Address bar and press Enter button Figure 4 6) You may be asked for permission. Click Continue button 7) Now delete all the files in the folder thus opened 8) Now click Start button in the Print Spooler Properties window Figure 5 9) You may have to press F5 key in the print queue Option 3: Through Command Prompt 1) After you have canceled the print process open the Command Prompt 2) Type net stop spooler in the Command Prompt Figure 6 3) Then type net start spooler 4) Press F5 key in the print queue |
