Default Assign a Keyboard Shortcut Key for opening a File, Folder or Application

How to Assign a Keyboard Shortcut Key for opening a File, Folder or Application in Windows Vista?

This tutorial will help you in knowing how to open a file, folder or application by simply pressing its shortcut key on the keyboard.

Note: This will work for the files, folders or application shortcuts located on the Desktop only. So if you want to open a file, folder or application that is located elsewhere on you hard disk, you first have to create its shortcut on the Desktop.

You can accomplish this in the following way:

1) Right click on the shortcut and choose Properties option

2) Now click on the Shortcut key textbox and press the desired key from the keyboard

3) You will notice that Ctrl+Alt are automatically added before the key value. This means you have to press and hold Ctrl+Alt keys simultaneously before pressing the shortcut key on the keyboard.

4) Click OK button
