How to View Devices and Computers Connected to a Network using Command Prompt in Windows Vista?



You can view devices and computers connected to your network by executing net view command in the Command Prompt. You can thus view list of shared resources, domains and computers using this.

To view list of devices and computers connected to your current domain or workgroup, open Command Prompt and type net view and press Enter key.

To view the resources of a particular computer on the current domain, type net view \\Computer_Name and press Enter key

To view list of devices and computers connected to another domain or workgroup such as Employees, for example, type net view /domain:Employees and press Enter key.

To view the resources available on a NetWare network type net view /network:nw and press Enter key

In case you want to view resources available on a server connected to a NetWare network type net view /network:nw \\Server_Name and press Enter key
