How to Assign Shortcut Key for Snipping Tool in Windows Vista?



Snipping Tool is used to take screen shots and edit them instantly. One of the biggest advantages of using it is that you can take the screen shot of any desired region of the screen unlike Print Screen method where you have to take the full screen shot.

The advantage of creating a shortcut key of Snipping Tool would be that you will not have to launch the Snipping Tool application again and again through Start menu or via a shortcut but can take screen shows easily and instantly via keyboard. This tutorial will help you in assigning Shortcut key for it.

You can accomplish this in the following way:

1) Open Start menu and go to All Programs and then Accessories

2) Now right click on the Snipping Tool link and choose Properties option

3) Now press the desired key in the Shortcut key textbox. You will notice that Ctrl+Alt will be added before the key automatically. This means that you have to press Ctrl+Alt keys before the desired key

4) Now click OK button.

5) You will be asked for the permission. Click Continue button

6) Click Continue button if prompted by UAC


You can now use the shortcut key to launch the Snipping Tool
