How to Create a Shortcut to turn Off Monitor in Windows Vista?
Yes you can turn off monitor via shortcut on your PC. This tutorial will help you in creating such shortcut.
Note: You need to download NirCmd utility and extract the nircmd.exe file at a suitable place before proceeding
You can accomplish this in the following way:
1) Right click on the Desktop and choose New and then Shortcut option

2) Type “Path_to_ nircmd.exe\nircmd.exe” cmdwait 1000 monitor off in the location textbox
Note: Replace Path_to_ nircmd.exe with the actual location of nircmd.exe file on your PC as shown in figure below.

3) Click Next button
4) Type a suitable name such as Turn Off Monitor and press Finish button

5) The shortcut will be formed on the Desktop

6) You can change its icon and assign it a Hotkey
