Accessing Element Formatting Tools in Excel 2007:-

In real life, you usually want to have some control over the various elements in a chart. Excel provides three additional levels of control:

1. The Layout ribbon contains a few popular choices for formatting 15 chart elements. In 80% of cases, you can choose from the dropdown menus on the Layout ribbon in order to create the perfect chart.

2. The Format ribbon contains icons that enable you to micromanage the color, fill, outline, and effects for any individual chart element. If you want to apply a soft glow, a metallic finish, and a reflection to the January data point, for example, you can do so using the Format ribbon.

3. Powerful format dialog boxes exist for every element in the chart. These dialog boxes provide the ultimate control over individual elements. You can access these dialog boxes in several different ways: You can select an element and press Ctrl+1. Or, simply right-click a chart element and choose Format or use the new Format Selection icons on the Layout and Format tabs. Most of the drop-downs on the Layout tab also lead to a More option.
