How to Pin Recycle Bin icon to the Taskbar in Windows 7?


Recycle Bin pinned on the Taskbar:

If you will try to pin Recycle Bin on the Taskbar directly by dragging the Desktop Recycle Bin icon on it then you will be unable to do it and it will be pinned to the Windows Explorer instead.

However you can pin this icon using a simple trick.

To pin Recycle Bin to the Taskbar follow these steps:

1) Right click on the Desktop and select New and then Shortcut option

2) Type %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe shell:RecycleBinFolder in the textbox and press Next button

3) Type a suitable name such as Recycle Bin and press Finish button

4) The Recycle Bin shortcut will be formed on the Desktop. Now right click on the Recycle Bin shortcut icon and select Properties option.

5) Click Change Icon button

6) Type %SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll in the shown textbox below and press Enter key

7) Now select Recycle Bin icon and click OK button

8) Click OK button in the Recycle Bin Properties window

9) Now drag the shortcut on the Taskbar and it will be pinned to the Taskbar as shown in Figure 1
