How to Share Files and Folders by linking Windows Live ID to a User Account in Windows 7?



Linking Windows Live ID with a user account is a way via which you can share files in an easy way. Windows 7 thus provides you this exclusive feature to make file sharing and connecting to other computers on a network easy.

To accomplish this follow these steps:

1) Open Control Panel (All Items View) and click the link User Accounts

2) Click the Link online IDs link in the left pane

3) Now if you do not have an online ID provider like Windows Live ID installed on your computer you will see a window like the below one. Thus you will need to install Windows Live ID first. For this click the link Add an online ID provider and download an install Windows Live ID.

4) After installation of Windows Live ID you will notice a screen like below one. Here click Link online ID link

5) Log in to your account via Windows Live ID. If you do not have one then create it via Don’t have a Windows Live ID? link

6) After you sign in to your account you will be able to see your ID in user account window. Here click OK button

7) Now you can share your files with the users who have linked their online IDs to the user account by right clicking on the files or folders and then choosing Share with option and then selecting proper network

8) You can now share files via File Sharing wizard now opened.
