How to prevent users from configuring the Security options for a file, folder or shortcut Properties Dialog box in Windows 7?


This tutorial will help you in removing the Security tab from the file, folder or shortcut Properties Dialog box. Thus users will not be able to allow or deny read/write permissions for the specific object.

To accomplish this follow these steps:

1) Open Local Group Policy Editor and expand the branch

User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Windows Explorer in the left pane

2) Double click the option Remove Security tab in the right side

3) Click the Enabled dot and press OK button
