How to Fix Error Code 80070422 in Window 7

When windows stop searching for updates then this type of error occurs, which means the automatic self updating process of windows has encountered some problem.

Two main reasons behind the occurrence of Error Code 80070422 are: -

1. Either the service is Disabled or Not Set to Automatic, as startup Type for Windows Update or,

2. Startup Type of ‘Windows Installer’ is not set to Manual

If you are facing the same problem then you must follow the steps mentioned below to get rid of it.

Steps to Fix Error Code 80070422 in Window 7: -

1. Left Click Start Menu, Type services.msc in the Search Space. Right Click on services and Left Click on Run as administrator option.

2. Left Click Yes Button If, prompted by UAC.

3. Right Click on Windows Update in the Right Pane and Left Click on Properties option.

4. Select Automatic as the Startup type: Under the General Tab. Left Click on Apply and then Left Click on OK button.

5. Right Click on Windows Installer in the Right pane and Left Click on Properties option.

6. Select Manual as the Startup type: Under the General Tab. Left Click on Apply and then Left Click on OK button.

The problem will be solved and when Windows again tries for Updating, this Error will not come.
