How to enable or disable all application add-ins option in Word 2010

To enhance the capabilities of a large software application and to extend them up to an extent, small software programs called add-ins are used. There are various settings related to add-ins that are also introduced in Word 2010 application. A setting for trusting application add-in is that the add-ins should be signed by any of the Trusted Publishers. Word 2010 has provided this setting as an option, which can be enabled or disabled by checking and unchecking it respectively. One more setting concerned with the above mentioned feature when enabled, is included as notifications for unsigned add-ins. When the option "Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted Publisher" is enabled then only the later mentioned option is allowed to be enabled or disabled. In addition if a user wish to disable all the add-ins related to Word 2010 application, he/she can do so, as an option for disabling all application add-ins at once is provided in Word 2010. Go through the few steps mentioned below to learn enabling and disabling all application add-ins option in Word 2010 application.

Steps to enable or disable all application add-ins option in Word 2010: -

1. Open the dialog box for "Word Options" by following a step from the under mentioned ones

a. Click the button for options of "Microsoft Office" Word, and after that click on the button tagged as "Options", which is placed below the tab tagged as "Word".

b. Click the button for options of "Microsoft Office" Word, and after that click the tab tagged as "Word". Find tab tagged as "Options" in adjacent part of the tab tagged as "Word" and then click on it. You will see it placed under the section entitled as "Microsoft Tools".

2. Click on tab tagged as "Trust Center" and then from the other part adjacent to the "Trust Center" tab, click on the button tagged as "Trust Center Settings..." from the dialog box for "Word Options", which will invoke the dialog box for "Trust Center".

3. First click the "Add-ins" tab from the left part of the "Trust Center" dialog box and then from the adjacent part of the dialog box, click in the checkbox of the "Disable all Application Add-ins (may impair functionality)" to check (put a right mark in) it. This will instruct Word 2010 to disable all application add-ins from it, with the probability of the functionality getting affected.

OR

First click the "Add-ins" tab from the left part of the "Trust Center" dialog box and then from the adjacent part of the dialog box, click in the checkbox of the "Disable all Application Add-ins (may impair functionality)" to uncheck (clear) it. This will instruct Word 2010 to enable all application add-ins from it, with the functionality of the application intact.

4. Close the dialog box for "Trust Center" by clicking on the "OK" button of the dialog box.

5. Click the "OK" button of the dialog box for "Word Options" to close the dialog box.

Soon after tracing the above noted steps, a user is capable to enable or disable all application add-ins option in Word 2010.
