    How to enable or disable document properties and personal information option in Document Inspector for Word 2010

    Many feature concerned with protecting the privacy and security for word documents are included in the latest version of Microsoft Office Word 2010. Privacy option of Microsoft Office Word 2010 basically consists of protecting user personal information up to the maximum extent possible, i.e. by not affecting the data. Privacy options also have the capability to collect information related to the working of the application and is sent to Microsoft later on for improving the efficiency and user interaction with the application. One more option included is the "Document Properties and Personal Information" in Document Inspector. This option when opted as enabled will help the Document inspector for Word 2010 to detect the document properties and personal information in the document for taking necessary actions. You can check this option and then can click on the "Inspect" button of the Document inspector dialog. This will analyse the document for the selected type of data and then will provide you option to remove it (selected data) from the document. The option can be enabled or disabled as per user requirement/need. To learn how to enable or disable document properties and personal information option in Document Inspector for Word 2010, follow the steps mentioned under:

    Steps to enable or disable document properties and personal information option in Document Inspector for Word 2010: -

    1. Click the blue button located in the top left button for invoking sub options of "Microsoft Office" Word, and then choose a step from below noted two, to open the "Word Options" dialog box.

    a. You will find a button labelled "Options" among the sub-options under the tab labelled as "Word", click on it.

    b. You will find a tab labelled as "Options" under the "Microsoft Tools" section in the adjacent part of "Word" tab, when you've clicked the "Word" tab. Finally, click the tab labelled as "Options".

    2. Invoke the "Trust Center" dialog box, by clicking the tab labelled as "Trust Center" in left part of "Word Options" dialog box and then the button "Trust Center Settings..." from the adjacent part of the dialog box of "Word Options".

    3. Click on tab labelled as "Privacy Options" tag in the left side of the "Trust Center" dialog box and then search in adjacent side for the button labelled as "Document Inspector..." under the section "Document-specific settings". Now click on the button to open the "Document Inspector" dialog box.

    4. Find the option " Document Properties and Personal Information " and checkbox for it. Now click inside the checkbox to put a right mark (check) in it, which will enable the option. Now you can click on "Inspect" button of the "Document Inspector" dialog box to analyse the checked type of data.

    OR

    Find the option "Document Properties and Personal Information " and checkbox for it. Now click inside the checkbox to clear (uncheck) it, which will disable the option. Now you can click on "Inspect" button of the "Document Inspector" dialog box which will not analyse the unchecked type of data.

    5. Close the "Document Inspector" dialog box by pressing its "Close" button by a mouse click.

    After successfully tracing steps noted above, you are now masterful enough to enable or disable document properties and personal information option in Document Inspector for Word 2010.
