    How to customize alignment for numbering feature in Paragraph section of Home tab for Word 2010

    Microsoft Word 2010 is the newest member of the Microsoft Office family as a Text Editor. Feature related to text formatting and customizations of the features are included in a categorized way in the Word 2010. This gives the user an easy access to them. Features related to the Paragraph settings and customizations in concern with the justification of the text are included in the “Paragraph” section of the Home tab with in the Word 2010 ribbon. The settings lets the user to use the features instantaneously, while customizations makes them able to use their custom settings as default one for certain features. An option for customizing the alignment for the numbering feature is also provided, which enable the select a type of alignment of the numbering for the selected lists in the word document. Alignment has three possible selection varieties i.e. Left, Centered and Right. To learn how to customize alignment for numbering feature placed in Paragraph section which is located in Home tab for Word 2010 application, follow the undernoted steps.

    Steps to customize alignment for numbering feature in paragraph section of Home tab for Word 2010: -

    1. Select the list or part of text from the word document for which you would like to use customize alignment and then click the tab labeled as “Home” from the “Word 2010 Ribbon” to view its categorized sub-options.

    2. Click the down arrow marker of the button for “Numbering” from the “Paragraph” section in the Home tab to expand related sub options and click on “Define New Number Format…” option, which will open “Define New Number Format” dialog box.

    3. Now click on the down arrow mark for the selection list under the “Alignment:” section and click on a type of alignment you would like to use. Now, click “OK” button of the “Define New Number Format” dialog box.

    4. You will notice that the selected alignment is now active for the selected list or part of text in your word document.
